POSITION TITLE: Health Informatics Software Engineer
POSITION DUTIES: Essential Software Inc. (“ESI”) is looking for a Health Informatics Software Engineer for its growing team. The Health Informatics Software Engineer will work in designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications. This position will also support and/or install software applications/operating systems, as well as participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
Specifically, the Health Informatics Software Engineer will:
- Be a part of a team responsible for Cancer Research Data Commons (CRDC) platform applications and data management;
- Focus will be on bringing healthcare informatics concepts and designs to bear on transactional and research datasets to create a Continuous Learning Health System;
- The CRDC projects utilize a multi-disciplinary team ranging from technical platform specialists (“Cloud” computing platforms), data architects (collecting, organizing, and storing highly varied data), data scientists (performing advanced modeling and analytics), and clinician scientists (driving the clinical investigations and participating directly in patient care);
- Collaborate with other developers and test engineers to produce high-quality software that delivers business value and follows established standards and processes;
- Create and manage technical documentation;
- Independently develop, code, modify, test and debug application programs;
- Work with business users to develop and implement acceptance tests to ensure that product meets customer requirements;
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments; and
- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production problems.
Telecommuting is permitted for this position.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a masters degree in Health informatics, computer science, information technology or a related field. Three (3) months experience as a Software developer or data architect, which includes three months’ experience with the following:
- JavaScript
- HTML
- CSS
- Google Cloud Platform
RATE OF PAY: $114,026.00/yr
